Urban Myth

Based in Adelaide (Australia), Urban Myth Theatre of Youth invests in the creativity, skills and social awareness of young people aged 15-26 years, through their participation in performance and theatre creation.
They have been conducting workshops, mounting productions and running extensive youth theatre programmes.

They will be performing their production of 'The Piratces Ship' in schools across the city as well as at the Prithvi Theatre on the 12th and 13th of December at 11am.


Nell Ranney


Nell Ranney is an Australian director/producer with a BA Communications (Theatre/Media) from Charles Sturt University. She has worked as a producer for B Sharp Productions. Her credits as a director and co-producer include The Glory of God (Short and Sweet 2008) and two original works The Kiss and The Nutcracker. She has worked as Stage Manager for Company B, Force Majeure, Pinchgut Opera, the Australian Ballet and Tinderbox Productions.

In India for Thespo 11, Nell Ranney will be conducting a workshop for Theatre Producers called ‘How To Run A Show’, a 5 session workshop that deals with all aspects of running a show from prompting to setting up rehearsals

Nell will also be conducting a collaboration workshop for actors interested in dance and physical theatre that will lead into a light and shadow performance ‘Hearts and Bones’, to be held at the NCPA on December 12th.


Jelena
Budimir

Jelena Budimir is an actor, director, writer and teacher who has trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She has worked in fringe, rep and West End theatre and her notable roles over the years have been the Nurse in ‘Romeo and Juliet’, Carrie in ‘Who’s Afraid of Virginia’s Sister’ by Sarah Daniels, Cathata in ‘A Little Crooked Round the Edge’ a one woman show and Lynne in ‘Stepping Out’ and Hobby in ‘Teechers’ both in the West End.  A part of Chickenshed Theatre since its inception in 1994, Jelena has been involved with the company’s workshops and performances that aim at encouraging the inclusive form of theatre. She has enjoyed playing Fairies, Wicked Stepmothers and French Hens to name but a few in the very popular Chickenshed Christmas shows.

As a Director, her credits include ‘Yard Gal’ by Rebecca Prichard, ‘Our Country’s Good’ by Timberlake Wertenbaker, ‘Widows’ by Ariel Dorfman and Tony Kushner and ‘Unhealthy Business’, ‘Greece, the Mythical’ and ‘MySpace or Yours’, all of which she also wrote.

In recent years along with being an Associate Director at the Chickenshed Theatre Company, Jelena has also been working as a drama facilitator for both Clean Break Theatre Company and Hampstead Theatre.

On a sabbatical in India, Jelena will be conducting the Sampling Shakespeare workshop from 10th December at Prithvi House. The 2 session workshop focuses on the text and characterisation in Shakespearean plays through ‘Othello’
