Mumbai, December 14, 2008: As the curtains were drawn on Thespo X – India’s premiere youth theatre festival, a host of new talent was revealed.

True to tradition, Thespo acknowledged its past by opening the Awards Night with the Thespo for Lifetime Achievement being awarded to Sam Kerawala, and presented by Rajiy Kapur.

In addition to the Thespo X Jury Panel that comprised Shanta Gokhale,Hidayat Sami and Manav Kaul . Marathi play Dalan swept four of the eight Thespos on offer. Below captures the list of categories and award winners.

Thespo is a joint initiative by Theatre Group Bombay - India’s most senior theatre company, and Q Theatre Productions (QTP) as a platform for young aspirants under 25 years of age to showcase their talent on a professional stage. What began as one evening of three one-act plays, has grown into a multi-day, -language, and -city festival, staged every December, with follow-up shows at ‘Thespo @ Prithvi’ – a monthly event at Prithvi where Team Thespo organizes workshops in the afternoon, followed by platform performances and a main show in the evening.
