He has worked as an international fashion and magazine photographer and won awards for his work from organisations that range from UNESCO to the Art Directors Club of New York to the Asian Advertising Congress. Between 1995 and 2005, Ellias photographed ballet and opera across the world. His film The Legend of Fat Mama: Stories from Calcutta’s Melting Wok has won 2 awards from The President of India and the Best Film of MIFF 2006 – Mumbai.
